Our Puppy classes are held on a Thursday at 19:00 at our club house in St Lawrence.
We currently have a lot of interest in our puppy class, while it is fantastic to see so many puppies and their keen owners, unfortunately we do not currently have space for everyone. So please do contact us jerseydogtraining@live.com before coming up to join a class, as we are running a waiting list.
Puppy classes are for dogs between the age of 3 months and 6 months.
Puppies are taught the basics of obedience, but most importantly have the opportunity to socialise with other dogs.
It is important to teach puppies from a young age, because it is a lot easier to train a puppy with consistent behaviour and commands, rather than to teach a dog who has had the opportunity to develop ‘bad’ habits.
The trainer fro the puppy class is the wonderful Jacqui and classes follow the Kennel club Good Citizen Puppy Scheme.
When you come to training, please wear soft flat shoes, bring a lead and collar (no choke chain collars), a pooh bag to collect any mess, and a bag of yummy tit-bits and/or toy to reward your dog, and your puppy!
Other members of the family are welcome to come and watch the class.
The puppy course is a 8 week course.
The cost of a course is £80. Your 8 lessons must be taken within 10 weeks of joining, this is so that the puppies gain the most benefit from the classes, as they will be attending regularly.
As soon as your puppy is 3 months old, and has had all of their injections so they can mix with other dogs, you can start classes. You can start your 10 week course at anytime. Just come along on to start, on your first night arrive a little early to meet the trainer and fill in the forms.
If you have any other questions please give us a call on 851074 or email us at jerseydogtraining@live.com
Please feel free to pop in and visit us, come along on a Thursday evening and watch a class before joining us.
